He wondered where 2 people for a romantic weekend in Napa or Sonoma (or Healdsburg), which is approximately $ 130-185 per night (max), perhaps $ 200. A bed and breakfast is usually more character, but also be open to a different hotel. Better if you stayed there, you have a personal recommendation.

Try the Calistoga Inn and Brewery. That's less than $ 100/night (when I was still $ 75/night). The house is like a B & B Restaurant and Brewpub down. Room upstairs. Country Home Decor, very welcoming. No television. Shared bathrooms!

I am sure the Calistoga Inn and Brewery is great but it's about 30 minutes from Healdsburg. The Camellia Inn is just 1.5 blocks from the Healdsburg Plaza and while they do have roooms for $299 they have a budget room for $139 and in the off season you might get it for less than $100. The only other option in your price range is the Dry Creek Inn - a very nice Best Western.
